| Dodd Hoops Remain Undefeated Halfway through the season, the Dodd boys’ basketball team remains undefeated, beating Wilson Middle School yesterday, 46 to 35. Collin Jordan led the way with 19 points, 3 assists, and three steals. His defensive pressure caused great difficulty for Wilson. Matt Millea chipped in with 9 points with 7 of them coming in the 4th quarter. Dan Schock also played well scoring 6 points while Tyler Post grabbed 9 rebounds and added 4 points. Our record is now 7 wins and no losses. The J V team also remained undefeated with a 27 to 13 victory. Connor Gunneson led the scoring with 8 points, Justin Frazier scored 7, and Matt Covel added 6. Andrew Yamin played outstanding defense, scored 6 points, 7 steals and handed out 7 assists. The J V record is now 7 wins and no losses. |
| Bailey Keeps Spartans Undefeated Today, the girls’ basketball team faced a stiff challenge from Woodrow Wilson Middle School of Middletown. The girls played extremely hard, withstood furious rallies and in the end, prevailed, defeating Wilson 56-41. Missy Bailey played her best basketball of the year, constantly attacking the Wilson defense. She led the team with 17 points, 6 assists and 6 steals. Lily Dolyak added 12 points to go along with stellar defense. Natalie Reynolds provided constant energy on both sides of the court chipping in with 11 points. Paige Cunningham and Alexa DiLeo combined for 15 points, 24 rebounds and 8 block shots. Every player who played gave everything they had as this was a total team effort. The team reaches the half year mark undefeated with 7 wins and 0 losses. The girls’ junior varsity team lost a heart breaker 12-10 against Wilson. The team jumped out to a quick lead but could not hold it in the end. Sara Como, Jill Howard, Caroline Hague, Kya O’ Donnell and Hafsa Moinuddin all scored for the team. |
| Dodd Basketball Update The Lady Spartans won their 4th game in a row with a 53-19 victory over Moran Middle School of Wallingford. The girls jumped out to a big first quarter lead and never looked back. Lily Dolyak led all Dodd scorers with 10 points. Natalie Reynolds and Darien Dunham each chipped in with 8 points. The team rebounded well as Dunham pulled down 20 rebounds and Alexa DiLeo contributed 18 rebounds. Playing well were Kristen Cabrera and Missy Bailey. The team is undefeated heading into the holiday break. The Junior Varsity team won its fourth game of the year with a 10-6 victory over Moran. Playing well were Kya O’Donnell and Jill Howard. |
| Dodd 67 Washington 17 The girls’ basketball team won its third game of the year easily defeating Washington Middle School by the score of 67 to 17. Three Lady Spartans scored in double figures with Alexa DiLeo scoring 12 points and Missy Bailey and Paige Cunningham contributing 10 points each in the victory. Darien Dunham chipped in with 9 points to go along with 16 rebounds. Lily Dolyak helped the cause with 5 assists and 6 steals. Dodd JV 20 Washington JV 13 In Junior Varsity, the girls defeated Washington by the score of 20 to 13. Hafsa Moinuddin led the way with 8 points. Anisa Chaudhry and Sara Como each chipped in with 4 points. Their next game is Monday at home against Moran Middle School. |
| Girls Basketball Dodd 44 Dag 24 The Girls’ basketball team opened their 2009- 2010 season with a 44-24 victory over DAG Middle School of Wallingford. The Lady Spartans pressured DAG throughout the game coming up with 29 steals and pushed the ball time and time again exhausting the opposition. Alexa DiLeo led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points. Darien Dunham chipped in with 8 points to go with her game high 14 rebounds. Missy Bailey, Natalie Reynolds, and BryAnna McIntosh all contributed 6 points in the victory. Dodd JV 18 Dag JV 2 The Junior Varsity squad won its first game of the year by the score of 18-2. Jill Howard led the way with 8 points. Caroline Hague and Kya O’Donnell played well. The Lady Spartans’ next game is Monday in Southington. |
| Girls Basketball Dodd 58 DePaolo 9 The Girls’ Basketball jumped out to a big lead and never looked back defeating Depaolo Middle School 58-9. Missy Bailey and Darien Dunham led the way scoring 16 and 12 points respectively. In all, nine Lady Spartans scored in the victory. The girls played excellent defense with Lily Dolyak, Natalie Reynolds, BryAnna McIntosh and Jill Howard playing extremely well. Their next game is Thursday against Washington Middle School. | Dodd Basketball Update The Girls’ Basketball team started the New Year on a winning note easily defeating Lincoln Middle School by the score of 59 to 7. Twelve Lady Spartans scored in the win, led by Darien Dunham, who scored 12 points and Missy Bailey, who chipped in with 8 points. The girls dominated the offensive and defensive glass as Natalie Reynolds, Alex DiLeo, Jill Howard, and Dunham all had over 10 rebounds. Also playing well in the victory were Lily Dolyak and BryAnna McIntosh. The girls remained undefeated going into Thursday’s game against Kennedy. The Junior Varsity team won its fifth game of the year by a score of 26 to 4. Caroline Hague led all scorers with 14 points. Kya O’Donnell and Hafsa Moinuddin both played well. |
| Dodd Boys Basketball Update The boys’ basketball team rolled to an easy 77 to 30 victory over Lincoln Middle School yesterday. Once again all 12 eighth graders scored with Collin Jordan leading the way with 14 points and 7 steals. Dan Schock played very well scoring 11 points and played outstanding defense. Tyler Post, despite early foul trouble added 10 points and 7 rebounds and Mark Dietrich chipped in with 9 points. Carlton White and Tom Arisco combined for 23 rebounds and 12 points. Our record is now 5 wins and no losses. The J V team continued their winning way with a 32 to 5 victory. Andrew Yamin set a JV record with eleven assists while scoring 4 points. Justin Frazier and Connor Gunneson each scored 8 points while Ryan Pierpont and Matt Covel both scored 6 points. The J V record is also 5 wins and no losses. |

| Spartans Remain Undefeated The boys’ basketball team remained undefeated with a 55 to 37 victory over Dag Middle School yesterday. Carlton White played his best game of the season scoring 12 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and coming up with 3 steals. Collin Jordan continued his fine play scoring 12 points along with 7 steals. Dan Schock continued his steady play scoring 7 points while Tom Arisco broke out of his slump and scored 6 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Our record is now 8 wins and no losses. JV's Also Stay Unbeaten The J V team also remained undefeated with an impressive 22 to 4 victory. Connor Gunneson dominated the game with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Matt Covel and Ryan Pierpont each scored 4 points each while Andrew Yamin score 2 points while handing out 7 assists. The J V record is now 8 wins and no losses. Dodd Lady Spartans Continue to Roll The Girls’ Basketball team faced its first half time deficit but rallied in the 2nd half to defeat DAG Middle School by the score of 37-24. The girls struggled offensively throughout the game but their hustle and determination overcame their mistakes. Missy Bailey led the team with 13 points, hitting 3 three point shots. Alexa DiLeo played well, chipping in with 7 points and adding 16 rebounds. Lily Dolyak scored 6 2nd half points and added 5 assists and 5 steals. Seventh graders Sara Como and Jill Howard provide much need effort off the bench. Dodd remains undefeated through eight games. JV's Win Again The Junior Varsity team won its seventh game of the year defeating DAG by the score of 8-2. Sara Como, Caroline Hague, Kya O’Donnell and Hafsa Moinuddin all scored in the victory. |
| Dodd Girls Roll Over Edison 41-14 The Girls’ Basketball team remained undefeated cruising to an easy victory beating Edison Middle School 41-14. Missy Bailey led the way, scoring 11 points, dishing 4 assists and coming up with 5 steals. Alexa DiLeo and Lily Dolyak each chipped in with 8 points a piece. DiLeo, Natalie Reynolds and Paige Cunningham controlled the offensive and defensive boards by combining for 32 rebounds. Krissy Cabrera and Hafsa Moinuddin played well in the victory. The team returns to action on Friday at home against Washington Middle School. |
| Dodd Boys Crush Edison The Dodd boys’ basketball played extremely well yesterday, defeating Edison Middle School 75 to 25. 13 different Spartans scored led by Collin Jordan with 20 points despite playing only 12 minutes. Matt Millea handed out 8 assists while Tyler Post scored 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Alex Augusto scored a season high 9 points while gathering 5 steals. Carlton White continued his improved play scoring 7 points. Tom Arisco, Dan Schock, and Reid Duglenski chipped in with 6 points apiece. The Dodd record is now 9 wins and no losses. In J V action Matt Covel led the team with 8 points and 6 rebounds defeating Edison 26 to 2. Andrew Yamin and Connor Gunneson chipped in with 6 points apiece. | Dodd Girls 51 Washington 16 On Friday the Girls’ Basketball team easily defeated Washington Middle School 51-16. Jill Howard, Lily Dolyak, and Natalie Reynolds each scored 8 points in the victory. Missy Bailey and Sara Como contributed 7 and 6 points respectively. BryAnna McIntosh and Krissy Cabrera played well in the victory. The girls remained undefeated with a 10 win 0 loss record. | Jordan's 29 Lead Dodd over Washington On Friday, January 22nd the Dodd boys’ basketball team defeated Washington Middle School 78 to 58. Collin Jordan erupted for 29 points, a season high, while also dishing out 6 assists. Tom Arisco added 15 points, 8 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Tyler Post contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds. Alex Augusto and Matt Millea played outstanding defense while combining for ten points and 7 assists. Reid Duglenski chipped in with 7 points, while Paul Bronke added 4. Washington was tied for second place in the league. Dodd continues to be in first place and is also undefeated with a 10 win and no loss record. The JV team also stayed unbeaten and in first place with a 20 to 4 victory. Justin Frazier scored 10 points, Connor Gunneson added 6, and Matt Covel chipped in with 4. | Dodd 62 Lincoln 46 The boys’ basketball team won its thirteenth straight game, defeating Lincoln Middle School 62 to 46. Tyler Post with 13 points and ten rebounds paced the Spartans. Tom Arisco added 10 points while Collin Jordan also scored ten and had 6 assists. Carlton White and Matt Millea added 8 points each and Matt also had 6 assists. Alex Augusto chipped in with 6 points. Our record is now 13 wins and no losses. Our last game is home today against Wilson Middle School. In J V action, Andrew Yamin scored 18 points and had 7 assists as the Dodd team won 44 to 8. Matt Covel added 12 points, Connor Gunneson chipped in with 10, while Justin Frazier and Ryan Pierpont added two points apiece. The J V record is also 13 wins and no losses. |
| Dodd Girls 59 Lincoln 9 The Girls’ Basketball team won its 13th game of the year routing Lincoln Middle School by the score of 59-9. The Lady Spartans jumped out to a 24-2 first quarter lead and never looked back. Paige Cunningham led the team with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Missy Bailey added 9 points and dished out 5 assists. Darien Dunham added 7 points in her second game back from injury. Natalie Reynolds, BryAnna McIntosh, Hafsa Moinuddin and Anisa Chaudhry played well in the victory. The girls finish up their season with a game today against Wilson Middle School. The Junior Varsity won its game against Lincoln 14-0. Anisa Chaudhry, Jill Howard, and Kya O’Donnell all had 4 points in the victory. |
